Moms Offering Moms Support

Charity is very important to the MOMS Club®. In fact, there is a MOMS Club charity that helps MOMS Club members from all across the country. The MOTHER TO MOTHER FUND (M2M) is made up of funds donated from local chapters and is there to help members who are in crisis situations and in need of financial assistance. Should you (or another member) find yourself in this kind of a situation, please ask a board member to make a request to the M2M Fund!

Another reason that charity is important to the MOMS Club is that one of the purposes of our club is to undertake and complete at least one charitable, humanitarian, or social welfare project related to children each year. Please make a suggestion at a Business Meeting or let a board member know if you have an idea about a service project that you think our chapter might be able to contribute to.

August Was Purple Ribbon Month

4RKidsSake designated the month of August as Purple Ribbon Month as part of their campaign to educate and raise awareness of "Kaitlyn's Law" and of the dangers of leaving children unattended in or around motor vehicles.

4RKidsSake.org was founded by Corona resident, Tammy Russell after her 6 month old daughter Kaitlyn was left in a van by her baby-sitter for hours in 100 degree heat. Her beautiful daughter Kaitlyn (photo right) died from hyperthermia. Tammy vowed that Kaitlyn's short life would make an impact and promised her that she would do something to help other children.  It is heartbreaking, but wonderful that Tammy is taking this tragic death of her child and bettering the world for other parents and children.

The Corona City Council proclaimed August "Purple Ribbon Month" and the city was covered in purple ribbons to bring awareness to the dangers of leaving children unattended in motor vehicles. Many organizations volunteered to help putting them up, including ours.

Special thanks to Tammy for taking the time to speak at our August meeting.
